Biotech, medical, electronic, ecological, marine, culinary and construction-related businesses are just some of those in Cape Coral’s thriving light manufacturing sector. Key incentives, a desirable climate and a growing, educated workforce continue attracting many of these small- and medium-sized firms.
Architectural Metal Flashings
AMF has grown rapidly since its recent founding in Cape Coral by a husband-and-wife ownership team raised in Southwest Florida. It specializes in custom and niche metal roofing and building components. State-of-the-art machinery, more than four decades experience and extensive time on the fabricating line by its founder have enabled AMF to slash industry standard turnaround times. An agreement to supply products to nearby Babcock Ranch, “America’s first solar-powered town,” is among AMF’s recent coups.
Specialized Cabinetry and Components
Specialized Cabinetry took over a floundering business in 2009 and quickly turned around the operation in part through major investments in state-of-the-art, laser-guided machinery. The firm with more than 35 years of experience was able to far more quickly provide high-quality components that are both uniform and affordable. A customer base of about 65 clients has included Closets by Design. Expanded product lines soon followed. Along with cabinetry and closet systems, the company’s extensive cut-to-size services also include countertops, custom furniture and other home products. These are available commercially as well as direct to home owners.
